"WE MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY."

Messias Maoneni

What We Do

We take great pride in the design, production, and operation of the finest tour and incentive travel programs in our region. We are a boutique travel company with the experience, knowledge and logistical talent to manage groups of any size and complexity. In fact, we have managed a number of corporate groups in excess of 500 guests, the largest groups to visit our part of the world.

Échos d’Afrique understands that each client is unique. Therefore, each travel program we operate is unique. Each is individually tailored to fit the specific business, social and financial needs of our clients. Our goal is to make our guests happy. We do this by presenting three amazing countries – Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe – in a manner that is clear, consistent, honest, intelligent, safe and logistically sound.

Some honest talk: We recognize that we live and work in developing countries. Our basic infrastructure and economy are most likely weaker than yours. This means that things break, the electricity fails, and the internet (where we have it) goes down more often than where you live. Such conditions can be disconcerting for our guests. We can take our guests on safari in spectacular game reserves, we can guide them in kayaks down the Zambezi and we can plan lavish parties and events. But these experiences will not resonate with our guests if they are not at ease with Africa.

We can't single-handedly improve the infrastructure, but we can do this: We can put our guests in the most favorable circumstances to experience all that is awesome about Africa. We can use our knowledge, experience and most of all our innate ethos of African hospitality to ensure that our guests are comfortable with all aspects of their visit and that they begin each day confident that every detail of their life-changing adventure will be managed with compassion and concern.

Finally, some companies focus on adventure travel, others on specialty tours such as river cruising, photography or bird watching. We believe that for most, the wonder of Africa is Africa itself – her scenery, her animals and her people. We specialize in being generalists. Yes, we will put you on a raft, a helicopter, or connect you with a professional photographer or ornithologist. But in our experience, most people derive the most from Africa by exploring it. This means safaris, tours and activities that introduce you to the magnificent animals, the natural beauty of our land and our fellow Africans. Being a generalist in our profession requires more knowledge, experience and hard work than being a specialist, but the overall experience is better and more rewarding for our guests.

Much has been made of the recent term: "Ecotourism", which is defined by the International Ecotourism Society as “responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education.” This definition has been the mantra for our tours and activities for the past 30 years. We were proponents of ecotourism before there was a name for it.
